Front Cover and Contents Plan

This is how I plan on setting out my front cover for my school magazine as it is simple yet professional. I am going to have my main image on the whole cover of the magazine as from my research I found this how the majority had their images. I plan on having the masthead and logo along the top of the cover as it is the first thing the reader sees when the pick it up.

This how I plan on setting out my contents pages. The contents will be placed in the middle of the third page as that is where they are placed in most magazines as I found during my research.

Pictures for School Magazine

I like this image as the students are neat and reprsenting the school as smart and professional except that Chloe is wearing a pink hoodie. The image is a long shot making it unacceptable for this magazine and is not meeting the criteria.

 

 

I dont like this image because it is a long shot and it doesnt have any meaning/point behind this image. The mise en scene isnt consistant as the are twigs and flower pots in the distance.

 

 

I like this image as the mise en scene in the bakground presents the school being well equipted for the students. The students look ell concentrated showing that there are places the that the students can go and study with no distractions.



 

I like this image as it still shows the mise en scene of the school being well equipt and all of this equipment is available to all students. It also portrays the theme of halloween which the students that completed my questionnaire would like.

Optional Fonts

 



These are the fonts that I have found and are considering to use for my halloween edition of my magazine. I have taken these tonts from miscrosoft word and dafont.com. I am going to have a different font for my special edition magazine compared to my normal ones. Fonts 5 and 8 are very old fasioned and present a gothic sence. Fonts 2, 6 and 9 are shown as being computer generated font 2 is especalilly gothic and gorrie.

Questionnaire Results

This is the table that i have used to calculate my results. I have done this to make it easier to refer to when creating my magazine cover and contents page.
Top chosen results:
- It will cost 50p or less.
- It will contain gossip, horoscopes and music.
- It will be called The Beaver.
- It will be published termly.
- It will be the colours pink and silver.
- It will have a themed edition.
- The front cover picture will be taken at the front of the school.
- It will contain a free gift.

These are my results. This has given me my final results of what I am going to use and do on my magazine. I have used pie charts as they are easy to refer to and easy to see which is most wanted in/on the magazine. By ompleting my questionnaire it has given me an end result and a clear idea of what i am going to complete next.

Magazine Analysis (Part 2)

 

 

This is my second analysis of a school magazine, I have chosen to use this magazine because it has a different layout compared to the other magazine i have analsyed. It has taken a different approch to school magazines compared to most i have seen it has giving me inspiration to use a different format on my magazine.

Magazine Analysis

I have taken the front cover of this school magazine to help me with my research on school magazines for students. From this research I have found that I want to use bright colours to attract the audiences attention. I have seen that the masthead I important to the magazine as it reflects the school's status and creatve the schools students are.

My Questionnare



This is my questionnaire, I used this to retrieve information from the students at my school to help with the creation of my school magazine. I will be interested in what the students will select and I will incorporate what they have selected into the magazine.
I used questions like 'how much would you like the magazine to be?' to give me an idea of what to charge for the magazine and what people are willing to pay for it.
I have also used the question 'where would you like the picture to be taken?' to give me an idea of where to take it and what image would atract students to buy the magazine.
